The Q20 delivers ahost of sensing modes in a durable, IP67-sealed housing with industry-standard25.4 mm mounting. With a water-tight, small rectangular housing and exceptionaloptical range, the Q20 provides high-performance, reliable sensing in a space-savingpackage. The Q20 also features an advanced ASIC design for excellent crosstalkavoidance and exceptional EMI/RFI noise immunity to ensure reliable performancein demanding applications.
The Q20 is available in a wide array of sensing models and modes, including opposed(10 and 15 m), polarized (4 m) and non-polarized (6 m) retroreflective, and diffuse(250, 800 and 1500 mm) models. Sensors feature a visible red sensing beam foreasy alignment or an infrared sensing beam, depending on model. All models featurebright LED indicators for 360° visibility of operating status. The sensor’sstrong, over-molded plastic housing provides a washdown rating of up to 1200psi. List price for a Q20 emitter/receiver pair is $95; all other Q20 modelsare priced at $70.
“The Q20 takes our WORLD-BEAM family of photoelectric sensors to a new level by offering a high-performance, compact design and versatile mounting options—including molded-in threaded mounting holes on standard 25.4 mm spacing for quick installation,” said Dennis Smith, Banner Engineering product manager. “The Q20’s compact, sealed housing with over-molded construction ensures the sensor’s reliable, robust operation in washdown or other challenging plant environments.”
Applications. The Q20 provides a cost-effective, space-saving sensingsolution for industrial and commercial operations, especially in material handling, automated manufacturing cell, error-proofing and packaging applications. In addition, the sensor’s IP67-sealed housing with 1200 psi rating makes it ideal for foodprocessing or other applications in washdown environments.
In addition, several features of the Q20 make it particularly easy to set up and use:- Compact, rectangular housing with industry-standard mounting configuration
- Opposed, polarized and non-polarized retroreflective, and diffuse models
- Visible red beam available on most models for easy alignment
- Bright LED indicators for easy operating status monitoring from 360°
- Water-tight IP67/NEMA 6 rated enclosure
- Washdown rated to 1200 psi
- Versatile mounting options, including M3 (3 mm) threaded holes with 25.4 mm spacing
- Single-turn gain potentiometer on diffuse and retroreflective models for easy configuration
- Complementary PNP (sourcing) or NPN (sinking) outputs, depending on model
- 2 m or 9 m attached cable, or Pico- or Euro-style quick-disconnect
- 10 to 30V dc operation
